It is with great excitement I announce my candidacy for Fulton County Superior Court Judge to fill the seat that will be vacated by Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore. I am running because I am a servant leader and I know that I can bring the experience, commitment and concern service as a Fulton County Superior Court Judge requires.
My work in the private sector, in both state and federal court, with a civil defense firm coupled with my service as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting armed robbers, carjackers, rapists, child molesters and murderers uniquely qualifies me to serve as a Fulton County Superior Court Judge. As the highest trial court in the State of Georgia, the candidate elected to fill this seat will preside over a case docket that is approximately 75% criminal. Because of my extensive felony prosecution experience, I am prepared to manage a predominantly criminal docket. My civil experience also qualifies me to handle civil matters that will come before the court.
EXPERIENCED - I have civil litigation experience representing clients in state and federal court in a wide range of areas, including labor and employment matters, contract disputes, real estate and property matters, municipal ad valorem taxation matters and civil rights cases. I also have successfully tried several high-profile serious violent felony cases including murder, rape, child molestation and armed robbery in the Fulton County Superior Court. My balanced experience will allow me to hit the ground running and to be prepared to handle a mixed docket of civil and felony criminal cases.
COMMITTED - I am committed to providing every person who comes before me a fair opportunity to be heard and to ensuring that each person, regardless of race, class or socio-economic status, is treated with respect. I also am committed to upholding the laws of the State of Georgia in an efficient manner to facilitate a speedy resolution of cases for litigants, victims and defendants alike.
CONCERNED - As a stakeholder, I have a deep and abiding concern for our community. I have advocated tirelessly on behalf of women and children. I also have served in various capacities within our community growing out of my concern. I am devoted to helping create a community that makes us all proud.
A good trial judge is one who has the technical skills to interpret the law as well as an understanding of the impact a decision has on the litigants and the community at large. A good trial judge exhibits compassion for the litigants. A good trial judge has the courage to exercise good judgment, no matter the consequence. My record speaks for itself. With your help, I will be the next good trial judge serving the citizens of Fulton County. On November 4, 2008, vote ADAMS for Fulton County Superior Court Judge. First on the Ballot and a Name You Can Trust.
Yours in Service,
